I utilize evidence-based, results-oriented therapies to help you achieve your goals. Together, we collaborate on a treatment plan designed to help you recognize unhelpful patterns in which you engage or areas of struggle in your life. We then work side by side to help you develop new ways of thinking, of feeling, and of doing. Some of the tools that I most frequently use include:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy – This modality encourages you to examine your life values, and to engage with your world in a way that honors those values, regardless of challenges or struggles.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – CBT asks you to identify automatic negative thoughts and behaviors that work against you. We then work together to replace those thoughts with neutral, non-defeating self-talk. In addition, we look for ways to help you behaviorally activate by finding activities in which you like to engage, to help break these thought processes as well.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy – DBT teaches you to radically accept the world around you, to modulate your emotions, to interact with others in a productive manner, and to bring mindfulness into your daily living.
Mindfulness-Based Therapies – I use a wide variety of therapeutic tools to help you identify when you are numbing, avoiding, or discounting your emotional state. Together we work on ways to help you embody your emotions and to bring an authentic connection between your mind, body, and spirit.
